The Fellowship of Christian Athletes engages coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport.
In 2009, my senior year of high school, a friend invited me to a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting during lunch. The Lord sowed a seed in my life that day that He would later water throughout college that would change my life for eternity. Years later it is my desire to replicate my story through a ministry that I am passionate about; leveraging the influence of a coach and an athlete to execute the Great Commission. Taylor and I feel led to walk that out in the greater Austin area, where we can raise up teams of disciple makers to reach Hays, Bastrop, and Caldwell county. Ministry efforts through FCA are only possible because of the appreciated ministry partners like you who give both prayerfully and financially.
My calling is see the world impacted for Jesus Christ, so FCA is a perfect fit. I have seen the power of God to change lives during 10 years of leading mission teams to Romania and Moldova for Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. Now we get to do the same thing right here in our schools!
When Coach Landry and the FCA Board offered me the job in June of 1990, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven! The past 29 years have been an amazing confirmation of God’s call on my life and the resulting ministry that takes place when we trust Him! I’m most grateful for all those who have been on this journey with us!
I work as an Area Representative in Williamson County. I have the privilege of working with High School and Middle School coaches and students on their campuses and in their community. For me, FCA brings together my two greatest passions, serving the Lord and sports. I know firsthand the lasting impact a coach can have on an athlete and want to help our coaches accomplish that for the Kingdom.
For 25 years, I have served alongside my husband, Reagan, in Austin/Central Texas FCA. What a joy to work behind the scenes with event planning, budgets, donor correspondence, campers, parents and staff as God moves in the lives of coaches and students!
During the past three years of my thirty- seven coaching career God was calling me to something bigger than retirement. He finally reveled that “something’ to be the sports ministry of FCA. During my coaching career I was involved with FCA for 18 years on various campuses. It has always been a passion of mine to minister to both coaches and athletes. Now, I get to do God’s work every day. I am super blessed that God has given me this opportunity to grow in my Walk as I reach out to multiple campuses in Western Williamson County.
I love working for FCA because it combines my two passions, serving the Lord and athletics! I enjoy watching athletes and coaches find their identity in Christ and glorify God through the platform in which they have been gifted. FCA changed my life as an athlete and I am blessed to now be a part of FCA staff to help others grow in their faith.
The main part of my job is to build relationships. Those relationships involve the student leader, the coach, the church, the volunteer, the donor, and the board member. It takes a village to change a culture somewhere. God provides the people and the resources and my job is just to be faithful with these relationships. I love College ministry!! I didn’t know at 25 that I would be working my dream job of as a FCA Campus Director at Mississippi College. My wife and I were blessed to serve there for 6 years and experience an abundance of God’s grace during that time. FCA and my local church impacted me greatly at Mississippi State where I played baseball, and it was a big part of my story of growth in the Lord. FCA is where my faith was no longer my parents’, but it became my own. It is where I was encouraged to grow in the Word with other athletes. It is where the foundation of what it looks like to be an authentic leader started for me. What an opportunity God has given my wife and I to invest in the lives of these athletes and coaches at UT.
My two passions in life have always been serving the Lord and sports!
I serve with FCA at the college campus of University of Texas because I believe the college years are critical. Students make decisions in college that will affect them for the rest of their lives. I had a campus director while attending Mississippi State. Being involved in FCA in college gave me a family of people who would encourage, challenge and pray for me when I needed it. My walk with Christ deepened while involved with FCA in a way I hadn’t experienced prior to college. I want to create and facilitate that same opportunity for college students because of the impact FCA had in my life.
I have been on staff with FCA for 23 years, and I serve the Texas State University athletic dept. alongside my wife, Kim. I serve through FCA because it uses the platform of athletics and the influence of coaches to make a difference for the Kingdom of God.
I am the Area Director of Hill Country FCA. After 33 years in the Rio Grande Valley as the South Texas Director, it is a great blessing to now serve 20 schools in the Austin area. I serve coaches and athletes through FCA because I love being around sports to share His love, grace and mercy towards all.
I am so blessed to serve as the Area Representative of Gillespie County. I have been serving in the Hill Country since 2008. I am a graduate of Schreiner University where I played baseball. After college, I coached high school football and baseball for three years in Ingram and Fredericksburg. I was then called into full time ministry at the First Baptist Church of Fredericksburg. There I spent over three years with my wife Jenny and our son Braden, as the Youth and Recreations Minister, where I worked with students and shared the Gospel using the platform of sports. The Lord has unique patterned my life to serve now in the ministry of FCA. I am pumped everyday that He has chosen me to minister to His athletes and coaches!
